The launch of the Heritage Festival took place on the 17th of April at the Wangaratta Library with over 100 people enjoying music from the High Society Jazz Orchestra, Pianola music, high tea, games, activities of the era, a photo booth, period dress/costumes, displays and memorabilia.
The Heritage Festival is took place from 17 April- 24 May 2015. The aim of festival is to showcase and celebrate Wangaratta’s local heritage with the focus of the 2015 Festival on ANZAC Centenary Commemorations.
Events and activities that took place over this period focused on raising awareness about our local ANZAC history, and include: workshops researching military ancestry, Museum open days, photographic exhibitions, a theatre production of Gallipoli, torchlight tours, Author visits, and woodworkers display.
