Bring the New Year’s Eve in with a bang!

This New Year’s Eve, Apex Park will be filled with children’s activities, live music featuring George Kamikawa and an amazing sand sculpture demonstration and workshop for everyone to get their hands sandy. The celebrations will be on Wednesday 31 December at Apex Park commencing from 7pm.

Penny Hargrave, Manager – Arts, Culture and Events at the Rural City of Wangaratta, said, New Year’s Eve is a fantastic event for families and friends to bring a picnic or purchase food by one of the local food vendors, enjoy live music and come together to celebrate as a community”.

“This year we are incorporating a sand sculpture which is an amazing art form with the theme of the sculpture based on our beautiful Ovens River here in Wangaratta. This free event incorporates a community workshop for budding sculptors of all ages.”

“It’s truly breathtaking to watch 4000 people from the community come together to enjoy the fireworks display. The first fireworks show commences at 9.15pm, followed by the Moonlight Movie, Frozen that will take you through to the midnight fireworks show, welcoming in 2015. said Ms Hargrave.”

The New Year’s Eve Event is proudly hosted by the Rural City of Wangaratta and is free for everyone to attend, so come down and join in the celebration at Apex Park – it’s not one to be missed!,”
